<i>E</i> / <i>Z</i> reversible photoisomerization of methyl orange doped polyacrylic acid‐based polyelectrolyte brush films

The photoswitching behavior of the polyacrylic acid (PAA) doped by methyl orange (MO) brush film was investigated using spectral analysis UV-Vis absorbance, Fourier Transformation Infrared spectroscopy, 2D electrical conductivity mapping and Atomic Force Microscopy. kinetics time evolution photoisomerization PAA-MO PEBs from E-state to Z-state UV-light irradiation, reverse thermal relaxation explored. results confirm that overall peak is superposition S 2 π * transition, low- high-frequency 1 n transition bands. E–Z transformation led transforming azobenzene flat with no dipole moment 3.0 D moment. Hence, escalated accordingly. collapse formed brushes because angular rotational momentum consequent isomerization.
